Analysis Group Promotes Two Managing Principals and Adds Securities Experts as Affiliates

Analysis Group, a leading provider of economic, financial, and business expertise to law firms, corporations, and government agencies, is pleased to announce the promotions to Managing Principal of securities and antitrust specialist D. Lee Heavner, Ph.D., in their Los Angeles office, and antitrust, finance, and intellectual property specialist Rebecca Kirk Fair in their Boston office. Analysis Group is also pleased to introduce as new affiliates securities expert Professor William Chambers of Boston University, investment banking expert Donna Hitscherich, and hedge fund expert Ezra Zask.

Dr. Heavner joined Analysis Group in 2003. He has directed the support of expert witnesses in numerous finance and antitrust matters, including Baker v. American Century Investment Management – one of the largest mutual fund excessive fee actions ever filed – and Florida State Board of Administration v. Alliance Capital Management, which concluded with a landmark ruling for active investment managers and was declared a top defense win by the National Law Journal. Dr. Heavner holds a Ph.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and formerly taught economics and finance at the Tulane University A.B. Freeman School of Business.

Ms. Kirk Fair began her career at Analysis Group in 1996, and returned to the firm after completing her M.B.A. in finance and applied economics at the MIT Sloan School of Management. She has participated in multiple litigations on behalf of MasterCard International, and in the presentation of trial testimony in several large litigations involving alleged anticompetitive practices by Microsoft. Ms. Kirk Fair also has testified at trial in a fair value dispute and at an arbitration regarding damages stemming from a contract dispute, and has managed projects to measure damages.

Professor Chambers is an authority in corporate finance, investment analysis, portfolio management, and capital markets, and has authored expert reports and provided expert testimony in deposition and at trial on these issues. Prior to his academic career, he spent more than 20 years assigning and overseeing credit ratings and developing and overseeing credit models, internal credit scoring systems, and default risk assessment processes for Standard & Poor’s. Professor Chambers earned his Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.A. in economics from Columbia University.

Ms. Hitscherich has held senior executive positions in mergers and acquisitions with Banc of America Securities and J.P. Morgan & Co., and formerly was a mergers and acquisitions attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. She specializes in corporate acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, exclusive sales and divestitures, takeover defenses, and restructurings, and has served as an expert witness in several complex securities litigations including matters involving deal structure, valuation, due diligence, custom and usage in the finance industry, and financing alternatives. Ms. Hitscherich holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, and a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.

Mr. Zask has been active in the investment arena for 30 years, and has served as a litigation support expert for major law firms, the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, the National Association of Securities Dealers, and the Government of Canada. He founded and managed a large hedge fund, and has managed hedge fund investment portfolios for banks, family offices, and fund of funds; conducted extensive hedge fund due diligence; and managed large-scale trading operations and strategic positions for money center banks. Mr. Zask holds an M.A. and M.Phil. from Columbia University.
