SSARIS Advisors, LLC Honored at InvestHedge Fund of Hedge Fund Awards Named “Group of the Year” and “Arbitrage Fund of the Year”

STAMFORD, Conn., Mar 23, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) — SSARIS Advisors, LLC, an absolute return hedge fund and fund of funds manager and member of State Street Global Alliance, LLC, announced today that it was honored at the annual InvestHedge Fund of Hedge Funds Awards held earlier this month in New York City. SSARIS was named “Group of the Year” and “Arbitrage Fund of the Year.” The company was also nominated in the “Global Multi-Strategy $100 million - $500 million” category. This is the seventh year that InvestHedge, a HedgeFund Intelligence publication dedicated to investors in hedge funds, has recognized excellence in risk-adjusted performance among the global fund of hedge funds universe.

Nominees were evaluated on their three-year risk-adjusted performance and Sharpe ratios, reflecting the industry’s objectives of delivering high returns and superior risk management. The “Group of the Year” award calculates the average and weighted Sharpe ratios across the entire product range, and the average and weighted alpha and growth in assets for a 12-month period. In 2008, SSARIS experienced 195 percent growth in assets under management and achieved the highest average alpha across its product range.
