Capula Investment Management Names Angel Serrat Chief Strategist

Capula Investment Management LLP, an active fixed income investment firm with approximately $3.5 billion in assets under management, today announced that Angel Serrat, former Global Head of Research for JP Morgan Global Proprietary Trading, has joined the firm as Chief Strategist. In this newly created role, Mr. Serrat joins an established research department and will assist in developing trading strategies for the investment team.

Capula also announced that Thorkild Juncker, former Partner and Head of Marketing of NewFinance Capital LLP, has joined Capula as Co-Head of Business Development. Mr. Juncker will work closely with Edward O’Reilly, Co-Head of Business Development, to build institutional investor relationships and provide client service for Capula’s global investors. Additionally, Andy Adams has joined Capula’s Investor Relations team. Previously, Mr. Adams was a Vice President on Deutsche Bank’s Hedge Fund Derivative Sales & Trading desk in London.

Before joining JP Morgan in 2001, Mr. Serrat was a Vice President of financial institutions structured sales at Credit Suisse First Boston. From 1998 to 2000, he was an Executive Director of the Exotics desk at Goldman Sachs in London. Mr. Serrat was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Spanish Navy and a Professor of Finance at University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business. He holds a PhD in Finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts and a Masters in Economics from C.E.M.F.I. (Bank of Spain), in Madrid.

Prior to joining NewFinance Capital, Mr. Juncker was a Managing Director at JP Morgan where he held a range of executive positions in the bank’s institutional client business in Europe and the United States, and became the Global Head of the bank’s European Foreign Exchange and Commodities business in 1998. Mr. Juncker holds a Doctorate of International Economics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.

Before joining Deutsche Bank, Mr. Adams was a member of Barclays Capital’s FX Structuring team, where he helped to design algorithmic trading strategies and derivative-based trade ideas to both long-only and hedge fund clients. He is a Chartered Engineer and previously served as an Engineering Officer in the British Army. Mr. Adams is a CFA Level I candidate and holds a Masters of Science in Finance from London Business School and a Bachelors of Engineering (Honors) in Electronic Systems Engineering from Cranfield University.
