Capula Investment Management Adds Senior Investment Talent

Suresh Sundaresan To Enhance Global Research; Firm Expands Japan Trading Operations

LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Capula Investment Management LLP, an active fixed income investment firm with approximately $3.5 billion in assets under management, today announced that Suresh Sundaresan, former Chase Manhattan Bank Professor of Economics and Finance and Chairman of the Finance department of Columbia University, has joined the firm as Head of Research. Mr. Sundaresan will be based in London. Mr. Sundaresan will be responsible for developing new applications for refining Capula’s risk management and for global idea generation.

Additionally, Jean-Marc Bottazzi, former Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, who joined the firm in the summer 2008 is now based in Capula’s Tokyo office where he is a Partner and Head of Yen Relative Value Trading. In his role, Mr. Bottazzi oversees the firm’s Tokyo office and investment operations in Japan.

Mr. Sundaresan spent 27 years on the Economics and Finance faculty of Columbia Business School. He has published in the areas of Treasury auctions, bidding, default risk, term structure of interest rates, pension asset allocation, swaps, options, forwards, futures, fixed-income securities markets and risk management. Mr. Sundaresan has also consulted for Morgan Stanley Asset Management and Ernst & Young and conducted training programs for Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and CSFB. He served as a resident scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and as a member of the Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee. Mr. Sundaresan holds a PhD and an M.S. in Finance from Carnegie Mellon University.
